The Role of Grandparent as Ministry
We live in a world that seeks to separate us and to divide our families, particularly in the area of faith. Many grandparents wonder what role they can have in the faith lives of their adult children or their grandchildren. For many, this is a great source of pain. Please join us on Tuesday, September 2nd, to explore these challenges and receive encouragement, hope, and practical suggestions for living out the role and ministry of grandparent.

After Mass, the St. Matthias Social Committee will be hosting a luncheon followed by a Magic Show. All are invited! Tuesday, September 23, 2025 - Sharing Christ begins
In the first two parts of the ChristLife series- Discovering and Following Christ- the goal is to help the participants to personally encounter Jesus as Lord and to grow as his disciples. With that foundation we now turn to the joy-filled adventure of Sharing Christ. The Lord Jesus commands us to proclaim the good news and gives us the grace to not only obey but to praise Him for the radical privilege of seeing the lives of others changed by his love! Sharing Christ is a practical and doable way of responding to Jesus' command."
All are invited to learn more about Sharing Christ. Join us on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. beginning September 23rd through November 4th.
Please be sure to register by September 15th in order for us to have enough materials prepared.

Bishop Malesic Pens First Pastoral Letter,
"A Flourishing Apostolic Church."
The letter, “A Flourishing, Apostolic Church,” is housed on the diocese website and Bishop Malesic also recorded a video message regarding the letter. The letter has been uploaded onto the church's website as well: stmatthiaschurch.org/pastoral-letter. It is available in a downloadable PDF, along with a glossary and a discussion guide; all are available in both English and Spanish. All materials are available at dioceseofcleveland.org/pastoral-letter. I've also included the document and the glossary below. It is the sincere hope of Bishop Malesic and Fr. My Dear Parishioners,
All are invited to attend our Whole Family Catechesis Program. Why Whole Family Catechesis? Parents are the ones who have the most influence on whether their children will remain Catholic when they reach adulthood. Pew research indicates that 80% of confirmed Catholics stop actively practicing their faith by the time they are 20 years old. Our model invites parents and children to engage in their faith in a fun and interactive approach. It enables parents to fulfill their mission as evangelizers of their own family and to accompany them on their ongoing faith journey. Although we encourage the entire family to attend, we understand that it is not always possible; however, one parent should always attend with their child/children.
St. Matthias uses a “Family Faith Formation” model that consists of two in-person sessions a month with a Virtus-trained and background-checked Catechist, plus three lessons completed at home with parents for each. This program meets twice a month from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and is open to family members of all ages and parishioners with or without school-aged children. Members of the wider church family, modeling their ongoing growth in spiritual life, provide encouragement and examples for parents and children alike. Units Topics include: God, Jesus, the Church, the Sacraments, Morality, and the Liturgical Calendar.
The fee for Whole Family Catechesis (WFC) is $100.00 per family.
