Thanksgiving Day Liturgy - 9:00 am
All are invited to join us at 9:00am for Thanksgiving Day Mass on Thursday November 28th. Thank you for your invaluable support of Brookside in the past, and please consider a donation today in time for the holidays to help feed another man, woman or child who relies on this food center for hunger prevention.
The holidays are approaching and we need your help to feed hungry families at Brookside Food Center. Brookside Food Center is in need of common holiday foods (canned goods, breads, pumpkin pies, potatoes, etc.) Monetary donations to purchase holiday meals are also welcome. No donation is too small and every donation will have a positive impact on the good people served. To make a monetary donation, please make your check payable to: St. Vincent de Paul Society in the memo please mark “Brookside Food Center Holiday Meals” You can bring non-perishable goods (or cash/check donations) to bring up to the altar during the offertory procession, which will be delivered to the Brookside Center on Monday morning, December 2nd.
We will also be collecting food for Transfiguration Parish. Fr. Ted Haag is the pastor of this parish and he has informed us of a great need they have to stock their food pantry for members of his parish. Items need are pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter, jelly/jam, soups, macaroni and cheese, tuna, cereals/oatmeal and single rolls of paper towels. Please no bulk items, many of these parishioners live alone or are small families. These also can be brought to the altar during the offertory procession and will be delivered to Transfiguration next week.
The only item we can collect at this time for the jail ministry is postage stamps. We will have a small basket at the altar for these as well if you would like to support this ministry.
Please bring a sampling of your favorite dessert to share at our “table” and join us for our traditional coffee and desserts following Mass. If you bring some thanksgiving food you would like blessed, place it on the baptismal font steps, and Fr. Ray will bless the food for you to take home and share with your family.
Why not start the day with giving thanks to God for the many gifts He has given each of us. Thanksgiving Day Mass 9:00a.m. ST. MATTHIAS CHURCH PARMA, OHIO 440-888-8220
